The University Saturdays project, which started in Moscow 6 years ago, will continue its work in 2019-2020, and we offer to find out which universities are planning to invite students to exciting events and what will be the schedule of the Moscow Schoolchild’s Saturday and similar technical events .
History and objectives of the project
The educational project, called "University Saturdays", allowed to bring the interaction of universities and high school students to a whole new level. The so-called "Open Doors Days" were held in all higher educational institutions of Russia before, but thanks to a completely new format of communication, it was possible to make these meetings even more interesting and useful for future applicants.
The objectives of the project cover the following areas:
- raising the level of education of the young generation;
- career guidance of future applicants;
- demonstration of innovative technologies and techniques used today in training.
For the first time, “University Saturdays” were eaten up in Moscow universities in October 2013, but everyone liked the project so much that already in 2019-2020 such meetings will be held in many regions of Russia.
If the Open Day Open Days of the old format were designed mainly for high school students who in the near future will have to choose a university for further education, then the new meeting format will cover a much wider age audience. Many universities offer informative events for students in grades 6–9, opening the doors to the fascinating world of science for children and helping to determine the desired direction of study in a specialized school.
The meeting program offers such meeting formats as:
- master classes;
- creative meetings.
Important! Registration for events is possible on the websites of universities, as well as on special Internet sites. As a rule, the number of participants is limited, so you need to have time to sign up, while there are still empty seats in the audience.
The date, time of the start of the meeting and the duration of the event are arbitrary and are set by the organizers, taking into account the format and age category of students. So, for secondary school students this can be standard 45-minute lessons, and for future applicants even long 4-5 hour meetings, during which they can not only hear an interesting lecture, but also communicate with students and university teachers.
Engineering and legal Saturdays
In the framework of the project “University Saturdays”, the technical and legal universities of the capital offer thematic events (see the schedule), which means that Moscow will be able to offer senior students who are interested in these areas a lot of fascinating lectures and master classes in 2019-2020.
Traditionally, the range of topics discussed at such meetings will be quite wide. From applied programming tasks to high technology of the future, from the history of the country in the most resonant offenses to the most pressing issues of modern law.
Schedule for 2019
Since the number of listeners for each event is limited, a Moscow student who wants to get into a university of interest to an event taking place as part of the "University Saturdays 2019-2020" project should know what the schedule of meetings will be.
We bring to your attention a list of meetings planned by the universities of the capital for the winter and spring of 2019:
As soon as the schedule of events for the 2019-2020 academic year is approved, we will be the first to tell you which universities and when it will be possible to visit schoolchildren in the capital.
How to get to the lectureEveryone can become a participant in the event:
- schoolchildren of a certain age category;
- college students;
In 2019-2020, you can register for University Saturdays on the university of your interest online. To do this, just go to a specialized site, familiarize yourself with the proposed lectures, master classes, workshops and other events in your region, and select from the list the topics of interest for the meeting.
Important! The number of seats is always limited, so do not delay the decision.
If the student is younger than indicated in the table, but at the same time really wants to attend the event and is ready to perceive the material, in some cases you can record it at a lecture or master class. But nevertheless, it is better to pick up the meetings recommended for his age category. It is worth noting that this year universities are ready to meet not only children of grades 5–9, but also students of elementary schools.
No luck, and registration is already closed for the lecture you are interested in - do not worry. On the indicated day, go to the university and ask if it is possible to attend the event. It often happens that someone who has registered online cannot come, and the place in the hall is vacated.
Choose and let the new season of University Saturdays give you many exciting meetings, and perhaps become decisive in choosing a future profession!
